I've often wondered what a kit should consist of. If it's a freebie then I guess we should be grateful for anything, but I am curious, if you're selling your designs then what would you expect in a kit for sale and how do you determine what to charge for them. Don't get me wrong I have no intentions of ever considering myself good enough to sell my stuff, I'm happy to do it for the thrill and fun of it, but I have been curious where they're are any actual specifications for size vs cost.

Thanks for the feedback! I think that I am going to base mine on how many days worth of downloads I can get from a kit on my blog: 2-3 days is a mini, 6 days is a standard, and 12 days is a mega.....I use that seventh day either for a random freebie or a bit of jabber! So that will end up being something like 20 pcs or less (mini), 36pcs or more (standard), and 100 pieces or more (mega).

At least something close to that anyhow!

I, too, believe it is really up to the designers judgment. I have created 2 "mega" kits so far, and each have had over 120 items. My regular kits usually include 5 or 6 papers, and then however many elements I feel like throwing in there. LOL!

Just design the way you want to design, and all will be well. (:

I'm just guessing here....but I would say it's up to the designer as to what they call their kit. So far I have designed only one kit that I referred to as "mega"...and that was because it has almost 80 items! I always include a full list of what's included in a kit so people can judge for themselves if they want to compare with contents of another designers kits.....although think they're pretty much standard as to the number of papers, elements, etc.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has a more definite answer than this! :)

This might be a silly question, but what are the "qualifications" for mini, regular, and mega kits? Is it based on the number of components or is it all a matter of personal judgement from each designer? Any input would be helpful!
