Why donating is so important

well, it looks like we need to buy a a new server. Im hoping everyone can donate a one time contribution fee so we can keep our beloved DigiScrapDepot.com running.

That cozy feeling we get is called quality of life. I love to hear your stories on how much you love to see everyones work here. And we are all DigiScrapDepot.com addicts .

Thank you EVERYBODY out there, you are what keeps us volunteering our time to keep this website running. This website really needs your donation to keep it going. I promise i will never beg for money again. -well maybe this time next year we are 3x as large!! awesome.

Everyone has been so gracious to leave beautiful comments here in the Forum today its been about 400 people have read that the server was down. The so many emails from all of our loyal visitors who tell me they need the site back up again. We are counting on you to help.

You will not need to sign up for a PayPal account to donate.

Even though the NEW server is running we have not met our goal of getting enough funds to pay for through the rest of the year. When we meet that goal, then we will be able to take down the donation request buttons.

It was costing me and my husband 8 dollars per month when we opened in May, 2007 to pay for the old server. The new one we got is 250 dollars a month. (dedicated server, which has actual bandwidth. Everyone knows that DigiScrapDepot hosts primarily images. Im sure everyone here can agree that speed and images do not mix. Everyone will appreciate the speed at which each page will now load. Have you seen lightning?

This server will be able to cope with the 150,000 visitors and 2 Million page views a month and the 6000 visitors we get a day. The server is paid for month by month. Which means.... If i don't receive your donation, we will be paying privately.

Uh no! This is a big no no. Because this is considered copyright infringement. And we do not allow that on this website.

A person [b]needs to be the original designer [u][/u][/b]in order to post their own freebies here. Im sorry but there are strict rules on this website. Have fun designing and check out the tutorials on how to make your own designs =)

IF you find freebies on other websites you may direct the designer here and they can signup themselves to open their own account.

The My Buddy List is where if you add a designer or a visitor to your buddy list by clicking on their name in their profile, or on the right hand upper side of their layout/design, and then click the link called ADD AS A BUDDY.

The reason for this feature is so everyone can have a list of just their favorite designers at the time being. And change them out if you want to. The buddy list can be shown together (if you have more than one) everyones freebies and layouts will show blended. Or, you can choose to click on each buddy sepately and see each buddies Layouts/freebies that way.

We are sure you will enjoy this new feature!

How to be a Featured Designer

You may have seen some new changes here. The first i want to mention is called the Featured Designer which features a designers picture on the front page. It rotates among all of you designers. The only catch is, you need to have 5 freebies, and one picture as an avatar to join the fun. :D

Now i have an interesting observation. I uploaded a papers collection namely my Halloween Freakies. The whole is in one download. But when i put the collection together it came out a rainbow. Now I thought ok and didnt think anything further about it.

Then I looked again at my Halloween Freakies preview and thought, well visitors might thiink that this is a rainbow of skulls, not individual papers. That could be confusing. I also noticed I wasnt happy with the amount of attention I was getting from the Rainbow Halloween Freakies preview.

Well then i decided to upload the papers one by one so people can see that they are individual papers instead of just one... that resembles a rainbow LOL ... not exactlythe Halloween theme i wanted.

Well to my surprise I found after i uploaded my papers one by one, I had double the amount of downloads! Amazing. I guess I cleared up the confusion. Also this gives the DigiScrapDepot more amounts of freebies that Google finds on the search engine.:w00t:

Wow, DigiScrapDepot has just crossed a huge benchmark! Thanks to everyone who comes here we now have 6109 freebies and 463 terrific contributing designers. Isn't that amazing!! :hehe::w00t::)

DigiScrapDepot BACK ONLINE!

So the website is backonline. And it feels good! Thank you to all the well wishers and loyal visitors who emailed wishing us goodwill during this period.

The problem was the new host just shutoff our service without warning and were not able to get them to respond to any emails, support tickets etc. we sent them, so we had to move back to our old host which thankfully has been very helpful in getting us back with them. It took a little longer then expected because we also made time for some family time this weekend. We went and found some ducks to feed.:D

Maybe you will notice some small changes on DSD. During this time we switched the servers we did a few little updates. We fixed some errors and we added some Google advertisements. We know its not popular to run advertisements but we hope you will forgive us us... :) We need to recoup some of the expenses we have on running this website.

Besides advertising, the programmer Thomas, has been able to fix the tag cloud so it works from each section such as Embellishments, Alphas, QP's etc.

While I have your attention, Creative Teams feel free to advertise your crops and challenges on our own calendar. Thats what it is for!!! For EVERYONE to use.

I would like to see the visitors stopping in to say hello how-de-doo if you have a second. It really means alot to us to see who stopped by to see digiscrapdepot today.:D

We cant wait to meet all of you so kick off your shoes and get comfy. Theres alot of freebies here to take a look at! I myself being the #1 DigiScapDepot.com addict. I'm not only the president, Im also a client LOL .

What is the Events Tab and what is that Calender for?

Hello everyone! The calender is O-P-E-N for Everyone to post their goings ons. Yes, you can use it for your own Creative Teams crops etc. to get visitors to your site. Its free so why not use it! Remember there are alot of scrappers here interested in crops, contests, and exchanges!
